Progress has been made

I know that title is ambiguous, but it got you to click on this, didn’t it?

Even teasing. The progress I’ve made is on the first draft of book 2 in the Terminus Strain trilogy. I haven’t had a ton of free time to dedicate to sitting down and writing, but I DID have one insane writing session (my first one for the draft, actually) where I pumped out over 2,700 words (13 pages!) in a single sitting. I’ve written a bit more since then, but subsequent sessions were not nearly as successful as that first time.

Right now, I’m sitting at just over 3,600 words total. I’m closing in on the end of chapter 1 with a (so far) planned 15 chapters. That number very well may expand as I continue writing and feel like there are better, more natural-feeling chapter breaks, but that’s where it is for now. I’m hoping to have a bit more time to get at least 10,000 words this month, so here’s hoping!

Now, on to the status of book 1, Enceladus. I’ve finished the third draft, as I mentioned last month, and I have given myself a little breathing room. This month, I plan on going through it yet again and making any other tweaks necessary before publishing. My sister-in-law is hard at work on the cover art which I’m excited about. I’m hoping I have a rough sketch of some kind I can share in next month’s post, but we’ll have to see. She’s also a young college student, so needless to say her schedule is jampacked.

That’s really all there is for this month. Until next time!
