A small hiccup

Welp, my desire from last month was to possibly finish another chapter. That, unfortunately, did not happen. Hence the “hiccup”. The “small” part is actually the reason why I didn’t get a whole lot done. Our family added a “small” addition this past month which has, understandably, taken up a good bit of time.

Needless to say, I only got 1,000 words in February (which, hey, it’s better than nothing). My hope was that with the parental leave from work I would be able to possibly get some writing done during down time. That line of thinking was… let’s say ambitious. I kind of underestimated/forgot just how exhausting having a new baby around can be, let alone with three other kids running around. And I’m not even the one who gets up to feed her throughout the night. Special shoutout to my wonderful wife who does more for our family than anyone has any right to expect. She’s hardcore in the best ways and I’m lucky to have been able to write the times that I have with her sacrifices and help.

Like I said above, I did manage some writing and got a little way through chapter 11. I did not, unfortunately, get far enough to write the super creepy part that I’m very excited about. However, reminding myself while writing this post will hopefully motivate me to get it in gear and finish that chapter in March.

So, while I didn’t get a lot written, I don’t actually feel all that down about it. I think it’s understandable with where life is at the moment. I am, as always lately, exhausted and I will keep this post short. Let’s get some momentum for March!
