I did it! If you’re following along from last month’s post, after an abysmal 0 words in December my goal was to get the entirety of chapter 10 done. And from the title, I’m sure you can tell how that worked out. So, let’s give you some details. I finished chapter 10 and even madeContinue reading “Success!”

*Cringe
Ok, some not great news on the writing front. I got precisely zero words this month. It was not my intention, but it’s what happened. I think I severely underestimated the busy-ness of the holiday season or overestimated my own ability to squeeze in time to write. Probably both. However, I feel like I also have a relatively decentContinue reading “*Cringe”
National Novel Writing… Two Weeks?
Ok, so maybe I was a bit over ambitious expecting the time and energy to write every single day going into the holidays. Even so, I’m still honestly impressed with myself that I went the first 16 to 17 days. Granted, some nights I only wrote a sentence or two, which explains the meager 3,500Continue reading “National Novel Writing… Two Weeks?”
NaNoWriMo Incoming!
Alright, October was not a bad month. I got 4,000 words which pulled me through the rest of chapter 8 and a decent way into chapter 9. In total, I’m currently sitting at 43,500 words, and roughly halfway through the book. Celebration time! Chapter 8, as I mentioned last month, is a slow burn. ItContinue reading “NaNoWriMo Incoming!”
Slow going
Welp, I didn’t get as much done as I wanted this month. It’s not like I got nothing done (this ain’t no July), but I didn’t quite finish chapter 8. It’s close, but not quite there. All in all, I got 3,000 words this month. In last month’s post, I mentioned how chapter 8 isContinue reading “Slow going”
Light at the end of the tunnel
I did it! I finished chapter 7. It took a bit of self-motivation, but I did it. I obviously ended up having to rewrite the initial 2,000ish lost words I mentioned in last month’s post, but I think I was able to capture the basic feel of my original draft. It was hard to separateContinue reading “Light at the end of the tunnel”
Disaster Struck
I have some bad news. There was a problem with my file. A few days after I posted last month’s blog update, something stupid and annoying and depressing happened. My word doc was overwritten with a previous version, deleting chapters 3, 4, 5, 6, and what I had written for 7 up to that point.Continue reading “Disaster Struck”
Picking up some steam
You read that right. As you may have guessed from this post’s title, I was productive in June. Way more than I was expecting, to be honest, especially since June is typically an incredibly busy month for our family. All in all, I was able to get a good 7,000 words which brings the totalContinue reading “Picking up some steam”
May-be I Was More Productive
But only by a slight margin. Yes, I DID get some writing done this month. Yes, it WAS more words than April. No, it was NOT as epic as March’s 10,000 words. Ok, enough beating around the bush. Just as I had predicted (and, to be fair, warned you about in last month’s post), aContinue reading “May-be I Was More Productive”
April showers bring…
Freezing weather here in Utah, considering those showers were snow showers as of a couple weeks ago. Woof. Not a fan. Alrighty, this month’s update is a bit less grandiose compared to last month’s. I was only able to get just over 3,000 words this month, but I do have some decent excuses. First ofContinue reading “April showers bring…”
